How to play & rules

How to play Travle

Travle is a country path game. Start in one country and reach another by naming a chain of connected neighbors. Each valid move crosses one border under this practice map’s rules. Play unlimited routes at different lengths, use a next-country hint when needed, and compare your journey with a shortest solution.

  1. Read the start and goal. The map marks the start with S and the goal with G, with both names written above it.
  2. Add a connected country. A country must connect to your current country under the rules below.
  3. Use these explicit connection rules. Most connections follow land borders between represented country units.
  4. Choose a route length. Easy routes take 2–3 border crossings on a shortest path, medium 4–5, and hard 6–10.

Common questions
Can I play Travle unlimited?

Yes. Next journey generates another reachable country pair. You can also replay a completed route from your local practice record.

Is the drawn line a road route?

No. The line links country centers to explain the order. The game counts country connections, not roads, flight routes or travel distance.

Why is a country not accepted?

It must share an allowed connection with your current country and must not already be on your route. Sea gaps are not connected unless the rules explicitly allow a fixed crossing.

Does it accept more than one solution?

Yes. Every route made of valid connections is accepted. The shortest route shown at the end is one example, not the only allowed answer.
